Niridazole (ambilhar) in schistosomiasis: dosage correction

Abstract

The dosage for niridazole is not as stated in our issue of August 30, 1968 (p. 72). For S. haematobium and S.mansoni infections in adults weighing 60 kg or more, Ciba Laboratories Ltd recommend 1. 5 G (3 tablets of 500 mg) niridazole in two divided doses daily for 7 days; for smaller persons the average dose is 25 mg/kg.
