Advances in influenza vaccines

Abstract

The anticipated outbreak of influenza A2 (Hong Kong) in Britain last winter did not take place, although infection with this virus was widespread. However, the large outbreaks that were forecast for the United States did occur. The reasons for this difference are not yet understood.
