Abstract

Ibuprofen (Brufen - Boots) is a propionic acid derivative of the group of anti-inflammatory compounds of the phenylalkanoic acid series.¹ Ibufenac (Dytransin - Boots) which we reviewed in 1966² is an acetic acid member of the same series. Boots withdrew ibufenac in 1968 because it was suspected of causing jaundice.³
