Abstract

Thyroxine (Eltroxin - Glaxo) and liothyronine (Tertroxin - Glaxo) are pure preparations of two major thyroid hormones. They are used in the replacement therapy of hypothyroidism and hypopituitarism and to suppress TSH production of Hashimoto’s disease and well differentiated thyroid carcinomas.
