Lithium in the management of mania and depression

Abstract

Lithium is a trace element in plant and animal tissues, but its physiological importance is unknown. For therapeutic purposes it is available in Britain only as the carbonate (Camcolit - Camden; Priadel - Delandale). We reviewed its use in 1966.1
