Abstract
Cephalexin (Ceporex - Glaxo; Keflex - Lilly), is a new antibiotic derived from cephalosporin C. It is a derivative of 7-aminocephalosporanic acid closely resembling the penicillin analogue, ampicillin, and is the first of the cephalosporins that is active by mouth.
