Spaneph: slow-release ephedrine

Abstract

Spaneph (SKF) is a new slow-release formulation of ephedrine in Spansule capsules which is claimed to give sustained protection against bronchospasm in chronic bronchitis and bronchial asthma. Each capsule contains ephedrine sulphate 75 mg. For adults and children over 12 a daily dosage of one or two is suggested; SKF do not recommend the preparation for younger children.
