Abstract

Phenformin (Dibotin - Bayer) sustained release capsules are claimed to be more convenient and better tolerated than phenformin tablets in the oral treatment of diabetes. The tablets are taken two or three times a day, the capsules once. So far it has not been established that the sustained release capsules act longer, are more effective, or are better tolerated than conventional phenformin tablets.
