Abstract

Two new synthetic fluorinated corticosteroids for topical use - fluocinolone and flurandrenolone - have recently appeared on the market; both, like their predecessors, are claimed to have excellent anti-inflammatory activity in common skin disorders. Fluocinolone acetonide (Synalar - I. C. I.) is available as a 0. 025% cream, flurandrenolone acetonide (Drenison - Lilly) as 0. 05% cream or ointment.
