AB Maprotiline (Ludiomil) should be deleted from the list of permissible antidepressives since significant amounts are present in breast milk (Lloyd AH. J Int Med Res 1977; 5, suppl.4: 122–38). The baby would receive less than the equivalent of the adult therapeutic dose, but the effects of the drug on the immature brain are unknown.
