AB  - Most patients with psoriasis can be treated safely and effectively with dithranol, tar and sensible use of topical corticosteroids.1 Some, however, are not helped by topical therapy and in others the psoriasis relapses very quickly. Systemic cytotoxic drugs or antimetabolites are used for some severe forms of psoriasis, but are potentially hazardous.
