AB About a quarter of the patients who leave hospital following an acute myocardial infarction either die or reinfarct within two years. Many drugs have been tested with a view to reducing this figure; this article discusses the use of β-blockers, anticoagulants, antiplatelet agents and drugs that lower plasma lipids.
