AB  - Co-trifamole (Co-Fram - Abbott) is a new combination of a sulphonamide, sulphamoxole, and trimethoprim for oral use. It is similar to co-trimoxazole (sulphamethoxazole + trimethoprim; various brands) and co-trimazine (sulphadiazine + trimethoprim; Coptin),1 which has recently been withdrawn from the UK market. The manufacturer claims co-trifamole to be effective in lower dosage and therefore with fewer dose-dependent adverse effects.
