AB Extra-pulmonary tuberculosis (2 April 1991, page 26) was about infections caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, and excluded infections by atypical mycobacteria such as M. avium-intracellulare. These atypical organisms are the commonest cause of lymphadenitis in children and respond poorly to chemotherapy.
