AB  - Following our article on Alteplase and anistreplase in acute myocardial infarction (28 December 1989, pages 101–03), evidence was published showing that an antistreptokinase antibody persists in the blood at significant titres for several months after a single dose of intravenous streptokinase. This antibody is important because it could reduce the efficacy of a subsequent dose of streptokinase, not because of anaphylaxis. Antibodies are also likely to develop, and persist after the use of anistreplase.
