Earlier isoxazolyl penicillins include cloxacillin (Orbenin), and oxacillin and dicloxacillin which are not marketed in Britain. The chief advantage claimed for flucloxacillin is that it is better absorbed after oral administration than other isoxazolyl penicillins.1
