AB  - Cancer chemotherapy, unlike antimicrobial chemotherapy, is not based on absolute metabolic differences between cancer cells and normal human cells. Anticancer agents inhibit the growth of cells, whether normal or malignant, though different types of cell vary in their susceptibility to these agents, and in their capacity for recovery. The usefulness of these drugs is thus limited by their effects on normal cells.
