Cephalosporins - What's changed?

Abstract

Three cephalosporins - cefadroxil, ceftizoxime and ceftazidime - have been marketed since our last review in 1982.1 Cefadroxil sind ceftazidime were mentioned only briefly then. This article examines the clinical usefulness of these drugs and other competitors under development. The oral drugs are promoted particularly for use in general practice, while the parenteral drugs are mainly for hospital use.
