Managing migraine in children

Abstract

Migraine is the most common cause of severe recurrent headache in children. Around 1 in 10 schoolchildren in the UK has the condition and, on average, misses almost 4 days of school a year because of it.1 In many, the paroxysmal headache and accompanying symptoms are similar to those in adults, but there can be differences. Here we discuss the management of migraine in childhood.
