Abstract

The many drugs available to treat rheumatoid arthritis include anti-inflammatory and analgesic drugs (Group 1) and those whose mode of action is obscure, namely, gold, immunosuppressives and penicillamine (Group 2); corticosteroids are a third group. This article suggests some guidelines for the choice of drug.
