Abstract

Vulval and vaginal malodour and vaginal discharge cause concern to many women, some of whom find even normal odour and discharge unpleasant and become obsessively involved in getting rid of them. From the history it is often difficult to decide whether the symptoms have a pathological basis, and pelvic examination and laboratory investigation will usually be needed to exclude a local lesion.
