Abstract

Patients whose asthma is not controlled by inhalation of a β₂ agonist are often helped by addition of a corticosteroid aerosol.¹ Ventide (A & H) is a metered-dose pressurised aerosol which delivers 100µg salbutamol + 50µg of beclomethasone dipropionate per puff. It was initially promoted as a “logical combination” providing “comprehensive maintenance for chronic asthma”. This article discusses the value of this combined formulation.
