Nicorette - an update

Abstract

Five years ago nicotine chewing gum (Nicorette-Lundbeck) was introduced in Britain as a prescription drug to help people give up smoking.1 It is available in several other countries, but in the UK it is on the ‘black list’ of preparations not prescribable at NHS expense.
