Selegiline for parkinsonism - an update

Abstract

When we discussed selegiline (Eldepryl - Britannia) in 1984,1 it was used simply to alleviate symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. Since then several studies have suggested that it may delay progression of the disease2,3 - controversial claims publicised in newspapers. What is the place of selegiline in the management of Parkinson’s disease?
