Cystic fibrosis - what the non-specialist needs to know

Abstract

About 1 in 2000 babies born in Britain have cystic fibrosis (CF) - the commonest lethal inheritable disease of Caucasians. Most now survive childhood, and many are now aged over 30. General practitioners and hospital doctors will be increasingly involved in the care of adults as well as children, and need to know about the many aspects of this disease.
