Abstract

Alcuronium chloride (Alloferin - Roche) is being advocated as a neuromuscular blocking agent of medium duration. It is prepared from toxiferine, the most potent of the naturally occurring curare alkaloids, by substituting two quaternary ammonium groups with allyl radicals.
