Norlutin, norethindrone, norethisterone - correction

Abstract

In the article on Duphaston (Sept. 21, p. 46) norethindrone (Norlutin - Parke, Davis), known in Britain by the generic name norethisterone, was mentioned as a drug with oestrogenic as well as progestational activity. In Britain this substance is not marketed by Parke, Davis, but only by Schering, Berlin, whose trade name is ‘Primolut N’. The name ‘Norlutin-A’ is used by Parke, Davis for their brand of norethisterone acetate, the actions of which differ in some respects from, those of the unesterified substance.
