A study has examined the use of potentially inappropriate medicines (PIMs) on hospitalisation rates, and also estimated the rate of hospitalisation during exposure to individual PIMs in older adults.1 The authors point out that inappropriate medicines pose a particular risk to older people due to cognitive and physiological changes associated with the ageing process.
