Intrauterine contraceptive devices can be left in longer

Abstract

Both the National Association of Family Planning Doctors and the Family Planning Association are considering a recommendation that copper-carrying intrauterine contraceptive devices (IUDs) need not generally be changed more often than every 5 years.
