Enteric-coated potassium chloride and intestinal ulceration
Abstract
Clinical Studies - Enteric-coated preparations containing potassium chloride have been widely used for several years. Since 1964 several American1 and Scandinavian2 reports have indicated that they may cause small bowel ulceration and obstruction. The symptoms include colicky abdominal pain with nausea, vomiting and abdominal tenderness, often after meals.
