The latest study to question advice on dietary fats, carbohydrates and cardiovascular disease and mortality is a large epidemiological cohort study of people aged 35–70 years, enrolled between 2003 and 2013 in 18 countries.1 The study recorded the dietary intake of 135,335 people using validated food frequency questionnaires, with a median follow-up of 7.4 years.
