Abstract

Earlier this year we discussed the diagnosis, prevention and, briefly, treatment of venous thrombosis.¹ This article looks at the procedures for anticoagulation in detail. All too often it is done badly,² leaving patients under- or over-anticoagulated. To achieve optimum therapy there needs to be a clear policy implemented by doctors and patients working together.
