Enuresis alarms
Abstract
Bedwetting occurs on most nights in about 15% of 5-year olds, and is still a problem in about 1% of 15-year olds.l It is most commonly the result of delayed maturation of bladder control, and rarely associated with urinary tract disorders or psychological illness2. Alarm system can be used to help train children to gain control. A mat or pad is placed under the child so that when her or she micturates the urine completed an electrical circuit, causing an alarm to sound and wake the child. After several weeks of such conditioning most children wake before micturition or lose the urge to urinate during the night.
