Abstract

This is a most comprehensive reference book listing about 22,000 names used for drugs, pesticides and other substances of pharmacological or biochemical interest. It rapidly leads the user from obscure trade names and code names to the International Non-proprietary Name, and other standard names as well as the chemical name. It does not name manufacturers. The information in it is not accessible electronically. Major medical and pharmaceutical centres should have a copy, but it is very expensive and many will not be able to afford it.
